OKX, a cryptocurrency exchange headquartered in the Seychelles, has opened for business in Belgium.

It provides various cryptocurrency services through its wallet and exchange, including spot trading and conversion.

According to a press statement issued by the company on November 28, Belgian consumers can now access more than 200 cryptocurrencies, including more than 60 crypto-euro trading pairings and Euro deposits and withdrawals.

The expansion in Belgium uses Bancontact, the country's online payment system, which enables users to make instantaneous and cost-free deposits. There are no costs associated with SEPA deposits or withdrawals.

The launch in Belgium, according to Erald Ghoos, general manager of OKX Europe, is a “significant step in our regional expansion, backed by a local team and customized services that cater to the particular requirements of Belgian clients.”

The debut in Belgium is a component of OKX's larger plan to expand its footprint throughout Europe. The exchange made its debut in the Netherlands earlier in 2024.

It declared its intention to open a regulatory center in Malta, where it obtained a Class 4 license for virtual financial assets in 2021.

As part of its continuous product expansion, the exchange stated that it intends to offer more tokens for Belgian consumers; however, specifics of this project have yet to be made public.
