KuCoin Global Expands to Australian Offices on Global Scale
KuCoin Global expands in Australia by establishing new offices, recruiting new employees, and building new relationships to increase the company's worldwide market share and crypto usage.
KuCoin Global, a global cryptocurrency exchange with over 40 million users, announced on Tuesday that it is expanding into Australia, establishing new offices in Sydney and appointing James Pinch as Managing Director.
In what has been a busy year for KuCoin Global, the new Australian locations enable the exchange's services to reach a wider audience in the region, thereby improving global crypto adoption. The current expansion into Australia was supported by a first-of-its-kind sponsorship of the Australian Crypto Convention 2025 (ACC) and a significant marketing effort starring Australian golf legend Adam Scott.
KuCoin Global Expands to Sydney, Australia
Following the expansion into Australia, James Pinch was named Australian Managing Director, a local headquarters was established in Sydney, and a leadership team was formed to oversee the company's developing Australian operations.
The new facilities, situated in the heart of Sydney's central business district, will serve as Australia's local headquarters, expanding its user base and providing compliant crypto services nationwide. The new headquarters will also offer employment possibilities to residents in a variety of professions until 2026 and beyond, according to the team statement.
James was chosen to oversee the expansion team due to his extensive experience in finance, risk management, compliance, and legal matters. He has previously worked in traditional banking and built firms such as OKX (a global cryptocurrency exchange). KuCoin's leadership team has been carefully recruited and is well-versed in the Australian financial sector. The company hopes to grab a sizable portion of the country's crypto population.
In addition, James has started and scaled many disruptor enterprises in the trading, brokerage, and fintech industries, all based on efficiency and transparency. Pinch said why he was chosen to lead the southern expansion:
“Australian investors are serious about digital assets, and the market is expected to increase by about 20% this year, reaching US$1.2 billion in total revenue by 2026. In return, they require openness, stability, and innovation, which KuCoin gives. We're here to serve the next generation of Australian investors, thanks to our strong local engagement and top-tier security.”
KuCoin's Growing Connection To Australia
KuCoin has been present in Australia for several years, and 360,000 Australians presently use the KuCoin Global exchange. The launch of its Australian branch demonstrates the xchange's commitment to expanding its company in the region, reaffirming its commitment to local users, regulatory alignment, and institutional-grade security.
BC Wong also attended the Australian Crypto Convention (ACC) 2025, which coincided with the launch of new marketing operations in the country. KuCoin was a major sponsor at the convention, making its debut as an exchange and connecting directly with the community, while supporting the industry's professional development.
Finally, KuCoin has announced a collaboration with professional golfer, Masters champion, and Australian icon Adam Scott. In a national campaign titled “Integrity First.” Trading on KuCoin Next,” Adam Scott will assist in building trust in the exchange across the continent, increasing KuCoin's stability and reliability.
“I've been following the crypto space for several years and have been impressed by KuCoin's commitment to security and transparency,” Adam told me. “As someone who appreciates clarity, discipline, and long-term thinking, I recognize these attributes in KuCoin's approach to the market. I'm happy to collaborate with a platform that is increasing the bar for the entire industry, and I'm excited to engage with the Australian crypto community through this relationship.”
Scott will use the KuCoin-branded golf bag at this year's Australian golf championships, including the Australian Open at Royal Melbourne in December, the Australian PGA Championship, and the entire 2026 season.
