According to a Thursday statement on its Instagram page, a sushi restaurant in Asunción, Paraguay’s capital, has begun taking the Shiba Inu cryptocurrency.
Customers who pay with the red-hot meme coin will receive a 30% discount at Hattori Sushi & Drinks throughout November. Such actions are intended to entice additional customers and accelerate the popularity of the satirical cryptocurrency.
In July, a Dogecoin supporter with Utah offered a 10% discount on his home to anyone willing to pay in the original canine coin. In August, the Dallas Mavericks, a professional basketball club owned by crypto-curious billionaire Mark Cuban, ran a promotional campaign for Dogecoin, providing discounted tickets and merchandise to those who paid with DOGE.
Cryptocurrency legislation in Paraguay
Paraguayan legislator Carlos Rejala made news in June with a bill that sought to make Bitcoin legal money, according to some. However, the lawmaker then emphasized that the legislation was designed to regulate bitcoin trading, mining, and other activities rather than promoting cryptocurrencies in the manner of El Salvador.
To the dismay of Bitcoin proponents, the measure, which was introduced in July, specifically specifies that digital assets are not legal money. Rejala, on the other hand, declared his presidential candidacy last month, promising to make Bitcoin the official currency of the country by 2023.
The big moment for Shiba Inu
Merchants from all around the world are wooing Shiba Inu owners. Shiba Inu garnered considerable media coverage due to its enormous returns and became the top-trending subject on Twitter, with over one million tweets in only one day, after muscling into the CoinMarketCap top 10 and exceeding the market valuation of Dogecoin.
Shiba Inu was purchased in large trading volumes, putting pressure on crypto exchanges. Due to “connectivity concerns,” Coinbase was momentarily unavailable yesterday. Shiba Inu, which had a massive purchasing frenzy earlier this week, achieved a new lifetime high of $0.00008616 before its wild surge came to a halt.
