The “beginning of Snoop’s work in the NFT and art space.”
According to Snoop’s long-time innovation and investment partner Nick Adler, the NFT drop is simply the “beginning of Snoop’s work in the NFT and art space.”
Snoop said he’d be “absolutely open to future collaborations with Coldie or other iconic NFT artists” depending on how well the NFT does. Coldie informed Cointelegraph that Snoop’s management approached him directly about partnering on an NFT via SuperRare.
Adler also stated that Snoop intends to maintain a relationship with the collector or DAO (decentralized autonomous organization) that ultimately purchases the NFT.
“What’s interesting about the current climate for us is that we plan to continue to evolve this piece.” “Like, maybe we could use this piece for other projects, like the cover of a future album or a book,” he explained.
Snoop’s management team has even discussed using the artwork as augmented reality labels on wine bottles or as a book cover, according to Coldie.
“We could do Snoop wine bottles that use augmented reality, where the portrait comes to life on a wine bottle. That leads to so much more value to the collector because he’s got millions of eyes on the artwork.”
Snoop Dogg has stated regarding the NFT, “This technology has encouraged me to rethink how I work and disseminate my art into the public.”
“You don’t just see it, you feel it and you hear it. You digg? I want this piece to stand out as a representation of my vision in the metaverse. It’s Decentralized, Decentral eyes.”
The piece will be on display at…
According to the NFT’s SuperRare description, “the purple section is a homage to his hip-hop aristocracy.” The halftone and grunge effect on his left eye alludes to his status as an OG in the game, while the Doggystyle references allude to his dramatic debut.”
The piece will be on display at SuperRare’s nftnow x Christie’s trade show ‘The Gateway’ during Miami Art Week on December 3. It will also be on display at the Flagler Street Art Festival on Monolith during Art Week in downtown Miami from November 30 to December 5.
On September 21, Snoop revealed that he has been hiding in plain sight as NFT Twitter influencer “Cozomo de’ Medici” behind a pseudonym. The account’s wallet has built an NFT collection valued at more than $17 million, including nine CryptoPunks and a handful of marijuana-themed tokens.
Coldie’s NFT collaboration with John Van Hamersveld’s “The Unfolding Dream,” created in conjunction with Async, is also up for sale until December 10. He told Cointelegraph that he plans to collaborate with fellow digital artist Sarah Zucker in the future months.
