UFC and Crypto.com have teamed up to introduce a new fight night bonus to pay fighters in Bitcoin.
Crypto.com, a popular cryptocurrency trading platform, recently announced a partnership with the Ultimate Fighting Championship to pay bonuses to UFC fighters in Bitcoin, the world’s most valued digital currency. To reward UFC combatants, both companies have introduced new Fight Night Bonuses.
The ‘Fan Bonus of the Night,’ according to Crypto.com, which is UFC’s official cryptocurrency platform partner, will include three BTC incentives. The top three boxers will receive the aforementioned bonuses.
First-place winner will earn $30,000, second-place winner will receive $20,000 in Bitcoin, and third-place winner will receive $10,000.
“Crypto.com has been an official UFC partner for less than a year, and I’m telling you they are already one of the best partners we’ve ever had,” said UFC President, Dana White. “They’re constantly coming up with new ideas about how we can work together to connect with the fans. This new Fan Bonus of the Night is an awesome way to get fans more engaged in our events while rewarding the fighters for performances.”
UFC and Crypto.com signed a significant collaboration agreement last year. The cryptocurrency exchange became the first-ever global Official Fight Kit Partner of the UFC.
Bitcoin’s popularity among international athletes is soaring, despite the rising price of the emergent asset. Russell Okung became the first player in the NFL to receive a percentage of his pay in BTC in December 2020.
According to Steven Kalifowitz, the Chief Marketing Officer of Crypto.com, the recent partnership between UFC and Crypto.com will increase fan engagement. “Central to our partnership with UFC is creating the most unique and compelling ways for fans to connect with the sport and their favorite athletes. We are thrilled for this next step in our partnership with UFC and excited to build even more innovative and engaging experiences as our partnership continues,” Kalifowitz said.
