Hyundai Jumps On The NFT Bandwagon
Hyundai Motor Corporation announced its entry into the online community-based Non-Fungible Token market in collaboration with the non-fungible token (NFT) brand Meta Kongz as part of efforts to improve its brand experience and customer community.
The automaker is the first car manufacturer to jump on the NFT bandwagon.
According to a press release from the Seoul-based automaker, the company will release 30 limited editions of “Hyundai x Meta Kongz” NFTs on April 20 to commemorate the release of its short film “Metamobility universe,” which introduced the automaker NFT universe concept.
The “Meta Kongz” gorilla character in the film drives from Earth to the Moon, symbolizing how mobility opportunities can transcend time and space. The film also teases the release of a shooting star-shaped NFT in May.
The automaker issued 30 limited non-fungible tokens to commemorate the film’s premiere. As a result, it became the sole automaker (for the time being) to enter the community-based NFT marketplace:
“The Hyundai NFT universe will extend the Hyundai brand experience, especially with MZ generation, in a completely new way, further reinforcing our commitment to innovation in both the real world and in the Metaverse. We are extremely excited to introduce “Metamobility” through our own NFTs and start this journey with “Meta Kongz,”

Hyundai Motor Company Community-based NFTs Allows For Participation
Popular automobile manufacturers have already issued non-fungible tokens. These collectibles, on the other hand, were luxury automobiles created virtually and sold to select collectors.
The automaker, on the other hand, is the first to create community-based NFTs that allow owners to participate in the company’s Metaverse space.
NFTs are one-of-a-kind cryptographic tokens that exist on the blockchain and cannot be replicated. They are representations of real-world items such as artwork and real estate.
Tokenizing these real-world’ tangible assets makes buying, selling, and trading them more efficient while decreasing the likelihood of fraud.
By sharing NFTs, the Hyundai NFT community hopes to provide its members with the Hyundai Brand experience in the Metaverse. The Discord and Twitter Channels of the community launched on April 15, 2022, and the official NFT website is set to launch in May.
The automaker NFT projects will be carried out throughout the year in order to continue expanding the automaker NFT Universe. The proceeds from the sale of the automaker NFTs will go to the project’s management and community members.
