Gordon Goner, a co-founder of Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), issued a warning to the community about hackers planning a fourth attack on the decentralized society on June 12th.
He warned the hackers to be cautious because they might be detected. In a tweet, he emphasized that inside knowledge was the most important source of information for them to survive a continuing attack in their spaces.
According to Gordon, hackers may utilize their discords and web pages for practice and other skill perfection.
BAYC’s Social Media previous hacks
A breach on BAYC occurred on April 2nd when the community witnessed hackers take over the NFTs’ discord channel. Fishing links were supplied to the official discord by the white-hat hacker. BAYC had begun work on a project about the Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC).
Three Yuga labs from the community’s tech team were hacked by the cyber-terrorist. They provided a virus link, and the victims’ wallets were emptied of their bitcoin. Yuga Labs has blocked the hacker’s wallet since it was used for unlawful transactions and malpractices.
A valuable community product was stolen by the cyber-assailant (MAYC). The Mutant Ape Yacht Club was the crypto community’s most recent creation. The district intended to create a major crossroads and a new aspect in the digital asset business.
The BAYC community was also in grief on April 25th, when hackers gained access to the network’s Instagram and Discord accounts.
The white-hat hacker delivered a malicious website address to the bogus Instagram account and the official discord server on this occasion. According to the drudge, BAYC participants were ready to receive their fresh and false airdrops. The hacker’s wallet was linked to the victims’ Metamask. Bored Apes and Mutant Apes were both stolen.
The white hack hacker made off with 24 Bored Apes and 30 Mutant Apes from the victims’ wallets. The community of the Bored Ape Yacht Club was robbed of 54 NFTs. The total value of these NFTs was $13.7 million.
According to a BAYC spokeswoman, the process resulted in the loss of four BA, 6MA, and BAKC as well as associated NFTs valued at $3 million. He stated that victims of that particular atrocity would be contacted by the BAYC community.
A cyber attacker stole NFTs worth $ 360,000 from BAYC on June 5th, totaling 200 ETH. The account of the BAYC community manager (Boris Vagner) was hijacked and afterward used to disseminate phishing links to its members. The participants were completely ignorant of the impending attack on their personal accounts, which were insecure. The spoofing links post was also directed at the Metaverse’s ‘Otherside’ Discord.
