KuCoin exchange, which trades more than $1.7 billion worth of cryptocurrencies every day, said today that it will list Toncoin, the native token of the TON (The Open Network) blockchain.
KuCoin announced that the token will be listed on October 27 and can be traded right away in the TON/USDT pair. This announcement will bring a lot of cryptocurrency fans into the TON ecosystem since it serves 20 million users in more than 200 countries.
TON is a layer 1 proof-of-stake blockchain from the third generation. It was made by the founders of Telegram in 2018. With a fully scalable, decentralized blockchain and easy-to-use apps, TON was made to make transactions happen quickly and cheaply.
Toncoin is TON’s native token, and it’s the only cryptocurrency that can be traded between people directly through Telegram. The Durov brothers gave TON to the community. Since then, the TON Foundation, a non-profit group whose goal is to grow the TON blockchain, has been in charge of blockchain development.
Telegram recently said that they would build a marketplace on TON. Users will be able to sell tokenized Telegram handles on this marketplace.
The listing was announced by the TON Foundation, a non-profit group that is building the TON blockchain. It shows that the two parties are still working together since KuCoin Ventures and Huobi Incubator worked together to create a 250 million USD TON Ecosystem Fund.
The fact that KuCoin is now accepting Toncoin, a token that can only be traded P2P through the Telegram messaging platform, shows that the currency is still growing. The token was also added to the Huobi exchange recently.
During the initial launch period, the Ton Foundation has promised a number of community-building activities, such as airdrops and competitions, to mark another important milestone in the history of TON.
