ConsenSys has confirmed that Metamask would integrate Onramp.money to facilitate frictionless transactions in India.
According to the announcement, the connection would make it simple for Indian Metamask users to buy cryptocurrencies right inside of their wallet using local payment options like UPI & IMPS.
The collaboration intends to promote blockchain adoption in India and enhance user access to cryptocurrencies and decentralized applications (dApps). Gaurav Dahake, CEO of Onramp.money, said:
“We believe this partnership will make it easier for Indian users to access and use decentralized applications, and we look forward to working with MetaMask to drive the adoption of blockchain technology in India.”
Onramp.money is a platform that links users to the Ethereum (ETH), Polygon (MATIC), and BNB networks, enabling rapid transactions for cryptocurrency users in India. Lorenzo Santos, a product manager at the crypto wallet, said:
“This integration will make it easier for Indian users to access the Ethereum, Polygon, and BNB networks and use decentralized applications. We believe this will help drive the adoption of blockchain technology in India.”
The introduction of digital currencies by the Indian Central Bank and the push for crypto legislation in India coincide with the integration. The crypto market in India would undoubtedly improve by this new integration with Onramp, India is one of the biggest markets for crypto with a population of more than 1.4 billion people.
Since India took over the leadership of the Group of 20 (G-20), an intergovernmental organization made up of the 20 largest economies in the world, on December 1, 2022, Nirmala Sitharaman, India’s finance minister, has declared that regulating crypto asset will be a top priority.
