Spiderman, WolverineIron Man, and Captain America are some of Marvel’s well-known featured characters
Official nonfungible tokens and digital superhero comics from Marvel will soon be available on the VeVe virtual marketplace.
Marvel Entertainment announced on Thursday that it had teamed up with Orbis Blockchain Technologies to launch NFTs, and digital collectibles on the VeVe marketplace app later this year.
The NFTs will feature digital collectibles and comic books that Marvel fans may exchange and display in virtual showrooms, according to the entertainment business.
“We hope to expand the limits of what Marvel fandom can be, starting with personal and interactive digital collectibles that, through NFTs, fans can truly collect, share, and enjoy in a way that they have not been able to do before,” said Marvel’s vice president of business development and strategy Daniel Fink.
All Marvel digital assets will be minted on the blockchain and accessible for purchase and sale on VeVe’s secondary market using the in-app token Gems (GEM).
The VeVe app takes credit card payments for tokens, and it already has digital collectibles featuring characters from DC Comics, Star Trek, and other brands.
Wolverine, Spider-Man, Iron Man, and Captain America are just a few of Marvel’s most well-known characters.
Despite the fact that Marvel has been largely absent from the crypto arena, independent artists can still sell work incorporating well-known characters.
On Portion.io, a platform that allows people to produce and auction uncommon art, an NFT containing a Spiderman drawing by Adam Kubert sold for more than $25,000 in February.
Furthermore, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has incorporated digital assets and characteristics of the crypto world. The third episode of Disney+’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series mentioned a $59 million BTC bounty.
Since December 2020, the VeVe marketplace has reported selling over 580,000 NFTs. According to Cointelegraph, NFT trade volume in the space might reach $175 million by October, with a $470 million market capitalization.
