BlockFold, a decentralized finance firm based in Melbourne, has been purchased by Sequoia Capital-backed blockchain company Fireblocks for an estimated $10 million.
With this acquisition, Fireblocks will be able to offer more services than just custody services. Neither Fireblocks nor BlockFold have released any announcements in the media about the agreement.
For projects involving defi and non-fungible tokens, BlockFold, launched in 2022, offers smart contract creation, auditing, advising, testing, and security services.
OpenSea, Hedera Hashgraph, and OpenZeppelin are a few of its customers. This deal was made short after Fireblocks introduced its non-custodial wallet-as-a-service for companies in various industries.
The wallet is made to function on various devices and software, including iOS, Android, and web browsers. In order to increase accessibility and cater to a wider range of organizations, Fireblocks joined with the major cloud service providers AWS, Google Cloud, and Alibaba Cloud in June 2023.
