Metaverse platform Overdare and USD Coin issuer Circle have partnered to enable the integration of in-game Web3 wallets and USDC compensation for the creators of Overdare’s gaming content.
Circle and Overdare announced a partnership on February 26 to facilitate cryptocurrency compensation for game content creators. Overdare will incorporate the Programmable Wallets service of the stablecoin issuer to enable in-game wallets and USD Coin payouts for gaming content payouts, according to the announcement. This facilitates the exchange of stablecoins for gaming content from content creators.
Overdare is an NFT-driven metaverse game developed as a collaborative effort by video game publisher Krafton, a prominent entity in the industry due to its involvement in the release of the viral battle royale game PUBG: Battlegrounds, and software company Naver Z. The project, which utilizes the Unreal Engine 5, was unveiled as a Roblox-like mobile game on September 15, 2023.
As an alternative method for developers to resolve transactions and generate revenue, Circle emphasized that the metaverse game will incorporate the USDC stablecoin and wallet. The metaverse company perceives this as a chance to assist game developers in their migration from Web2 to Web3 platforms.
Henry Park, chief executive officer of Overdare, conveyed the organization’s enthusiasm regarding the collaboration with Circle. The executive commended the regulatory conformance of the stablecoin issuer and stated that the partnership would “ensure creators consistent access to their earnings.”
Jeremy Allaire, co-founder and chief executive officer of Circle, stated that he believed the partnership could help shape the “future of digital entertainment” and cultivate a Web3 environment for all.
Additionally, Allaire emphasized their enthusiasm for supplying Web3 wallets and USDC payout assistance to Overdare to support the creator economy.
The most recent Overdare development coincides with a surge in interest in blockchain gaming tokens. The Web3 game Pixel’s crypto token approached a valuation of $2.7 billion on February 22, following its listing on the Binance cryptocurrency exchange. At that juncture, the PIXEL token summited at $0.53, representing a gain of over ten times its initial listing price of $0.04.
