Brains, a leading Bitcoin mining pool, have introduced Lightning payouts for its minersBraiins, a leading Bitcoin mining pool, has introduced Lightning payouts for its miners, enabling them to receive their rewards instantly and with no fees.
Braiins mining pool, has made a breakthrough by becoming the first mining pool to offer Lightning payouts for its miners. This innovative move marks a significant progress in the adoption of the Lightning Network (LN) within the mining sector.
The Lightning Network is a layer-2 solution that enables fast and cheap Bitcoin transactions without congesting the main blockchain. The LN works by creating channels between users where they can send and receive payments instantly and with minimal fees. The LN also offers more privacy and scalability for Bitcoin users.
Braiins decided to integrate the Lightning Network after conducting internal research with the mining community and finding out that LN was a highly demanded feature. Kristian Csepcsar, Chief of Propaganda at Braiins, said that miners love experimenting with cutting-edge technology and that Lightning could improve their privacy and efficiency.
“By using Lightning, miners can avoid address reuse and take advantage of all the Lightning features like lower fees and no permanent information on the blockchain.” “We also believe that we’ve made a step forward for Lightning adoption; the more users and bitcoiners use Lightning, the more stable and reliable the network will become.”

How do Lightning payouts work?
With Lightning payouts, miners can receive their rewards quickly and smoothly without waiting for on-chain confirmations or paying high fees. This innovation not only benefits miners by giving them faster access to their earnings but also contributes to the overall health and usability of the Bitcoin network.
“As the first mining pool in history, we really love the dear old on-chain bitcoin, but we think that Lightning could really benefit miners and also improve the health of the blockchain by avoiding clogging it up with tiny payout UTXOs,” Csepcsar said.
Braiins has become the first mining pool to offer Lightning payouts, setting a precedent for other mining pools to follow. While the public release is expected to go live in the next few weeks, interested miners can request access to this new feature via Braiins’ support desk here.
“We are really bullish about Lightning and think we are only at the beginning,” Csepcsar said. “We’re happy to have deployed one more node to the network!”
