According to a dashboard from blockchain intelligence firm Arkham, approximately $3.5 billion in cryptocurrency is held by the top five identified crypto billionaires whose wallet addresses are public knowledge. All of it, however, is inaccessible due to the loss of passwords and private keys.
The updated dashboard disclosing the holdings of some of the world’s on-chain-verified wealthiest crypto holders and whales, including Vitalik Buterin of Ethereum and Tron, was announced by the on-chain intelligence platform on April 15.
The data indicates that the top five crypto holders on its list presently possess a combined value of $3.47 billion in digital assets. However, approximately $1.21 billion, or 35%, has been designated as “inaccessible.”
Arkham’s Top Five Cryptocurrencies
Claims, place Justin Sun at the top of the list with $1.06 billion in his cryptocurrency wallet. The proprietor of the Tron network holds $275 million worth of his own stablecoin, Decentralized USD (USDD), followed by Tron TRX, the network’s native token. Of which he possesses a value of $237 million.
Rain Lhmus, the proprietor of LHV Bank based in Estonia, ranks second on Arkham’s list regarding Ether worth $769 million. Nevertheless, the resource has been marked as inaccessible due to the November report detailing his private key loss.
Third is Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, with a wallet containing $757 million, mostly in ETH. He possesses a total of 245,425 tokens.
The Bitcoin wallet belonging to Stefan Thomas, Ripple’s former chief technology officer, is positioned at position four on the list. However, his $442 million worth of Bitcoin BTC has been marked as inaccessible.
In 2011, Thomas experienced a loss of access to over 7,000 Bitcoin due to the password for the encrypted hard drive containing the cryptocurrency’s sensitive information. According to Arkham, crypto venture capitalist James Fickel completes the top five with digital assets worth $436 million in his portfolio.
Additional noteworthy cryptocurrency accounts among the top ten include the $219 million holdings of early adopter Patricio Worthalter, predominantly ETH. Winslow Strong, General Partner at Cluster Capital, is documented as possessing digital assets valued at $27.5 million.
The dashboard presents public wallets that have been marked by Arkham, along with their present token holdings and past balances. It also provides a breakdown of portfolios across chains, historical daily balances, and recent activity for those included.
Whale wallets associated with unknown or pseudonymous owners, such as Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin, whose BTC holdings are estimated to be worth tens of billions of dollars across multiple addresses, or other crypto titans not currently linked to a specific wallet address, are not included on the list.
