The Collaborative cooperation between Layer 2 blockchain Lisk and tokenized real-world assets platform Backed aims to expedite the adoption of RWA in emerging regions.
The two platforms said in a release that they could take advantage of Backed’s experience and popularity in the RWA market and Lisk’s financial potential by working together. Erwan Mismaque, head of Lisk’s on-chain finance, said:
“This partnership aligns perfectly with our vision of democratizing access to financial services through blockchain technology.”
“Backed’s innovative approach to RWA tokenization, coupled with our focus on interoperability and Emerging Markets, will accelerate the adoption of blockchain-based solutions and empower individuals in regions with significant potential for growth,” Mismaque added.
Leveraging the Optimism Superchain
Lisk, real-world applications can join the Ethereum network on-chain. Because of its interaction with the Optimism Superchain, the platform provides blockchain developers and businesses with wider interoperability.
The collaboration enables Backed to use Lisk’s scalable blockchain network to expand the reach of tokenized real-world assets to more individuals and companies in developing nations, says Bernardo Quintao, head of business development at Backed.
A group of L2 chains in the Superchain come together to form the OP Chains, a network whose member networks share an open-source tech stack, communication layer, and shared security.
Projects to Receive Awards of up to $100,000
The integration will be powered by the Optimism Superchain for scalability and accessibility. As they develop new RWA-related projects, companies, developers, and partners will have access to Lisk’s incubation program, the Blockchain Incubation Hub.
African entrepreneurs with blockchain initiatives are supported by Blockchain Incubation Hub, which helps them quickly grow novel solutions. Grants of up to $100,000 in the form of LSK tokens will be available to new projects extending Lisk and using Backed’s tokenization infrastructure or its bTokens.
