Bitget has teamed up with Solana to organize a new hackathon to support entrepreneurs’ growth on the Solana network.
Cryptocurrency exchange Bitget has launched an all-new hackathon geared at supporting companies on the network in collaboration with Solana.
The trading platform disclosed that the “Solana x Bitget Hackathon” will concentrate on developers working on proof-of-concept systems, minimum viable products, and other blockchain applications in a press statement.
The initiative aims to help developers “unlock creativity, enhance technological understanding, and support Solana-based projects with mentorship from industry veterans.”
According to the press announcement, participants in the hackathon, which Bitget Wallet and Solana Superteam Vietnam sponsor, will get a portion of a $30,000 prize pool and the chance to network with venture capitalists “like Foresight Ventures.”
Bitget anticipates surge in developer activity on Solana
This is the “first time Bitget has organized a hackathon in Vietnam to support the growing developer ecosystem in the region,” according to Bitget Chief Executive Gracy Chen, who also notes that the event is a part of a larger effort to promote the local developer environment.
Vietnam’s significant participation in the cryptocurrency space is evident because, according to Chainalysis data, it came in third place globally with $1.18 billion in crypto gains for 2023, only behind the United States and the United Kingdom.
The hackathon’s introduction also corresponds with recent changes to the cryptocurrency space as a whole. The first Solana exchange-traded fund in Brazil was approved by the Securities and Exchange Commission earlier in August. It was developed by asset managers QR Asset and run by Vortx.
