Aethir, a graphic processing unit (GPU) cloud computing provider, has announced the establishment of the $100 million Aethir Ecosystem Fund to accelerate AI and gaming.
The Aethir Catalyst program is a component of the initiative intended to provide entrepreneurs and enterprises with access to high-performance GPU resources.
The fund will distribute 336 million ATH tokens over the next year, equally emphasizing AI and gaming initiatives.
Daniel Wang, CEO of Aethir, informed Cointelegraph that the $100 million fund is designed to meet the requirements of entrepreneurs and enterprises that require access to high-performance GPU resources.
“By offering funding and access to critical compute resources, we are working to democratize this technology and enable companies to scale more effectively.”
AI and gaming Support
The Aethir Catalyst program is the fund’s foundation, providing $20 million in grants and subsidies to support more than 100 initiatives.
The fund is a critical endeavor to democratize GPU access and reduce the financial barriers that companies in these sectors encounter, according to Mark Rydon, co-founder and chief security officer at Aethir.
“By allocating $20 million to this fund from Aethir Foundation’s $100 million ecosystem fund, we are ensuring that the most promising companies have the resources they need to thrive in these sectors and that the barriers to accessing compute power are reduced for everyone.”
Criteria and Fund Distribution
The 336 million ATH tokens, distributed equally between AI and gaming projects, will be utilized to foster innovation and establish strategic partnerships in various disciplines.
The fund’s distribution model aims to decrease the computational expenses of companies integrating AI, machine learning, or high-traction gaming applications.
The fund offers a subsidy program that covers up to 35% of off-platform GPU service costs and grants, allowing companies to access high-performance computation without incurring upfront costs.
Aethir, MetaGravity Partner for Scalable DePIN Gaming
MetaGravity, the developers of HyperScale Engine, and Aethir formed a partnership on June 25 to expedite the development of decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DePINs).
The partnership was formed to enhance the 3D internet and gaming industry by utilizing DePIN technology to establish a scalable infrastructure that simplifies the development of games.
Dan Wang, the CEO and co-founder of Aethir, stated to Cointelegraph that the partnership’s objective was to “unify a global network of underutilized resources.”
