Avalanche, a smart contract blockchain platform, and Alipay, an online payment platform, have partnered to develop a Web3-enabled voucher program that allows brands to test Web3 solutions.
Alipay’s ordering solution, Alipay+ D-store, and its partnered e-wallets are utilizing Avalanche for a Web3-enabled voucher program, the company announced on March 20.
Southeast Asian milk tea establishments implemented the program, allowing patrons to win vouchers by participating in a mini-game. Customers who successfully finish the game will receive a voucher in their e-wallet.
Avalanche informed users that the vouchers are valid at over 500 milk tea stores for discounts of up to fifty percent.
Built and administered by its blockchain service AvaCloud, the Avalanche Subnet powers the vouchers. According to Avalanche, the purpose of the vouchers is to enable brands such as Alipay to utilize Web3 technology-powered solutions. Avalanche composed:
“The POC will allow brands like Alipay+ D-store to test Web3 solutions, including how they can help merchants foster new forms of interaction with users, helping retain them and generate new revenue streams.”
In addition, the blockchain platform stated that this program enables Alipay to collaborate with other brands through digital collectibles and blockchain-powered features.
Avalanche emphasized that the program is in its nascent proof-of-concept (POC) stage. The blockchain platform stated that the program intends to introduce vouchers to one hundred million consumers and more than two thousand retailers.
In 2024, Avalanche has been constructing its ecosystem in collaboration with renowned brands. The smart contract platform partnered with SI Tickets, the ticketing division of Sports Illustrated, on February 20.
The partnership enabled Avalanche to host Box Office, the nonfungible token (NFT) ticketing platform of SI Ticket. Consequently, the issuance of NFT tickets on the platform has shifted to the Avalanche network.
Additionally, the proof-of-stake (PoS) blockchain has entered the gaming industry. Avalanche declared on March 11 that MapleStory, a widely acclaimed massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), would undergo an expansion into an Avalanche subnet. This development would provide users with the ability to generate content.
