Venezuela restricts access to Binance, X, and other online services.
Access to Binance, social media platforms, including X, and the services of other websites of various corporations has been restricted by Venezuela’s government.
This restriction, as per VE sin Filtro, has impacted the exchange’s website and mobile application’s normal operation. Binance Latinoamérica issued a notice to its users in response to the incident reports.
Binance acknowledged that Venezuelan authorities have implemented restrictions on the websites of a variety of companies, including social networks and the exchange itself. Nevertheless, the exchange has verified that user funds are SAFU.
VE sin Filtro has advised users to utilize a VPN in order to regain access to the exchange and other websites. Binance is embroiled in an ongoing dispute with numerous nations, despite the transitory nature of the restrictions in Venezuela.
In the face of an ambiguous regulatory environment and tightened crypto regulations, Binance has departed Canada. This occurred subsequent to the publication of new guidance by Canada, which delineated the importance of adhering to the CSA’s sanction.
Additionally, allegations of violating anti-money laundering regulations have resulted in the blocking of the Binance website and app in India. The exchange was even required to pay a $86 million tax debt to India in order to continue operating in the country.
Venezuela Restricts Access to X for a Period of Ten Days
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro announced last week that he is prohibiting the use of the “X” symbol in the South American nation for a period of 10 days, according to a report by Reuters. Maduro has accused Musk of inciting civil war, death, and hatred, which has further exacerbated the tension between the two.
Maduro was declared the victor of the presidential election on July 28, garnering 51% of the vote. Nevertheless, Maduro began to face protests and accusations, and a significant number of individuals even called for his resignation.
Following this, Maduro said in a speech, “X get out of Venezuela for 10 days!” He even urged his supporters to stop using Meta and WhatsApp and instead use Telegram and WeChat. Maduro stated that these apps were used as a medium to threaten the families of police officers and soldiers.
