Ukraine continues adopting cryptocurrency payments with Binance Pay amid the ongoing war with Russia.
One of the largest drugstore chains in the nation, ANC Pharmacy, has teamed up with Binance Ukraine to introduce cryptocurrency payments through the contactless cryptocurrency payment tool Binance Pay.
The company formally stated on January 3 that ANC Pharmaceutical is now allowing its customers to proceed with immediate payments while making pharmacy goods purchases online.
The pharmacy network runs its own online pharmacy service and manages more than 1,000 locations across Ukraine. The statement states that Kyiv would be the launch location of Binance payment. The announcement states
Both ANC pharmacies and businesses run by ANC Pharmacy, such Kopiyka and Shara, will accept the new payment option. “ANC, Kopiyka and Shara are the first pharmacies in Europe to accept crypto,”
Users must first download the Binance app and then visit the ANC website in order to make a crypto payment. Users will be able to select a product online, pay, and pick up their item at a preferred location.
Over the past several years, Binance has actively promoted its presence in Ukraine. Binance and Varus, a network of Ukrainian supermarkets, teamed in September 2022 to let customers to pay for groceries using the Binance Pay Wallet.
Introducing a Binance Card in Ukraine was one of Binance Ukraine’s top aims for 2022, according to Kirill Khomyakov, the country’s general manager.
Khomyakov asserts that while cryptocurrency-derived transactions are not prohibited in Ukraine, payments made using services like Binance Card do not violate Ukrainian legal requirements. However, local legislation prohibits direct Bitcoin payments and other cryptocurrencies.
