Bored Ape Yacht Club team donates the $1 million worth of Ethereum to the Ukraine’s government Ether wallet. This move from BAYC aims to match up with the BAYC members in Ukraine who have also raised about $1 million donations.
Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) has on Tuesday announced that it has contributed $1 million in Ethereum (ETH) to the ether address of the Ukrainian government. The BAYC team also published a link to the transaction’s blockchain explorer (etherscan.io).
At the time of writing, statistics from seven distinct crypto donation initiatives show that Ukraine has received $40.58 million in Ethereum-based digital assets. Donations sent to government addresses, the Ukraine DAO, the RELI3F.xyz NFT sale, Endaoment, Unchain Fund, Come Back Alive, and Ukrainedao.eth donations have all been logged by the Dune Analytics Ukraine crypto donations tracker.
Another cryptocurrency donation tracker in Ukraine, run by Merkle Science, has tallied $90.55 billion in total crypto donations thus far. Donations in tokens such as bitcoin (BTC), dogecoin (DOGE), polygon (MATIC), BNB, SOL, DOT, and NEAR are shown on the Merkle Science tracker.
“It’s been inspiring seeing our community come together in support of Ukraine – almost $1 [million] in ETH has been donated to @Ukraine by wallets containing a BAYC ecosystem NFT,” the official BAYC Twitter account wrote. “Today we’re matching that with a $1 [million] ETH donation of our own.”
The Bored Ape Yacht Club is a popular NFT project that has seen a lot of interest in the previous year. According to dappradar.com, BAYC is the fifth-largest NFT project by sales volume, with $1.4 billion raised to date.
The cheapest BAYC NFT is currently priced at $204,840 (74.64 ETH). The total market capitalization of BAYC NFTs is currently $2.04 billion. At the time of writing, donations made in Ethereum-based assets accounted for 40.8 percent, while donations made in bitcoin (BTC) accounted for 28.7 percent, according to the Merkle Science tracker.
