Coinbase, in collaboration with Match Group, Meta, Kraken, Ripple, Gemini, and GASO, forms the Tech Against Scams coalition.
Coinbase, a cryptocurrency exchange, announced on Tuesday that it has formed the Tech Against Scams coalition alongside industry heavyweights such as Match Group, Meta, Kraken, Ripple, Gemini, and GASO.
In order to safeguard customers and dismantle con artists affecting tech organizations in social media, dating apps, financial institutions, and cryptocurrency, the team will fight online fraud and financial scams.
On May 21, Coinbase revealed a ground-breaking innovation to combat scams in the larger IT sector in a blog post. As a result, Coinbase has formed the Tech Against Scams coalition in conjunction with Match Group, the parent company of Tinder and Hinge, Kraken, Ripple, Gemini, and the Global Anti-Scam Organization (GASO).
The coalition Tech Against Scams aims to stop financial schemes and online fraud that prey on consumers in the technology sector. The organization will offer tools to safeguard and inform users, fostering a safer online environment. Devraj Varadhan, EVP of Engineering at Ripple, said:
“As scams continue to become more convincing and intricate, bad actors are taking every opportunity to target and defraud innocent victims. We must fight back and educate individuals on how to protect themselves from these predators. There is no place for scammers, and we must come together across industries to address this pressing issue.”
