DOGE and ETH made the list of top 10 news searches on Google in 2021
The major cryptocurrencies Ether (ETH) and Dogecoin (DOGE) made Google’s top-searched phrases list in 2021.
Google issued its annual list of the most popular searches for the year on Dec. 7, breaking them down into categories such as searches, news, people, games, movies, and others.
Dogecoin was the fourth most popular news search word on the platform in 2021, according to Google Trends’ Year in Search 2021, both globally and individually in the United States. The 10th most popular news item was related to the query “Ethereum Price.”
Among the most popular new products are cryptocurrencies, as well as topics such as Afghanistan, AMC stock, COVID-19 vaccination, GME stock, stimulus check, and others. In the year 2020, there was not a single cryptocurrency on the list.
It’s worth noting that Bitcoin (BTC), the most valuable cryptocurrency, isn’t listed in any of the Year in Search 2021 categories, either globally or in the United States.
Dogecoin is among the most successful cryptocurrencies in 2021
Dogecoin, which was launched in 2013, has become one of the most successful cryptocurrencies in 2021, having recently entered the top ten largest cryptocurrencies by market valuation. The price of DOGE has soared this year, thanks in part to Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s backing, who began actively promoting DOGE on Twitter in 2020.
DOGE is up over 5,100% in the last 365 days, compared to 632 percent for Ether, according to CoinGecko data. Bitcoin, on the other hand, has increased by roughly 160 percent in the last year.
