Video game giant EA wants to explore blockchain and NFTs as it has announced a recent job offering on LinkedIn stating it needs a crypto-savvy individual.
According to a recent job offering on LinkedIn, EA Sports, a part of video game giant Electronic Arts, is looking to hire a cryptocurrency-savvy senior director of brand for its competitive gaming division.
Blockchain and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are being investigated by the company:
We set the pace for EA’s investment in gaming subscriptions, our PC storefront and platform, competitive gaming (including FIFA , Apex Legends, and Madden NFL ), as well as new business opportunities, including fantasy sports, blockchain and NFTs, and more.
Whoever is hired will be in charge of appointing a team of brand directors for games such as FIFA and Apex Legends, as well as overseeing EA’s marketing budget.
YouTube’s head of gaming, Ryan Wyatt, tweeted last week that he was positive about NFTs.
Amazon and Walmart have also put out information about hiring crypto-savvy individuals in a bid to foster its blockchain and crypto sector.
