EigenLayer enhances Ethereum mainnet security for EigenDA with whitelist measures to prevent Sybil and DDoS attacks.
EigenLayer; prevention of distributed denial-of-service assaults and sybil for the EigenDA data availability service on the Ethereum mainnet. The whitelist security measure, as per EigenDA’s X post, employs an internet protocol address or Ethereum’s elliptic curve digital signature algorithm (ECDSA) authentication to ensure secure access to the service and advanced protection.
ECDSA authentication is a cryptographic technique that is employed to authenticate the identity of a user, device, or system. In order to guarantee secure authentication, the system implements elliptic encryption, which is founded on the principles of public key encryption.
EigenLayer’s objective is to ensure the availability of its service to all clients while also safeguarding it with an additional security feature.
EigenDA’s free tier provides a transfer rate of up to 768 kilobytes per 10-minute interval, which surpasses the requirements of even the busiest roll-ups on Ethereum. For instance, on average, the Base network utilizes less than two blobs every 10 minutes.
The partner registration page enables interested parties to collaborate with EigenDA to customize solutions for their data requirements by supporting a diverse array of applications and innovations that necessitate high-efficiency capabilities.
EigenDA obtains a peak throughput of up to 10 MB per second on the mainnet and generates synthetic loads of 0.6 megabytes per second.
EigenLayer is also at work on the implementation of permissionless payments for blob transfer rates in EigenDA, which is scheduled for release by the end of 2024. This feature will enable users to allocate bandwidth at a fixed rate in order to accommodate high transmission rates.
EigenLayer concluded the second phase of the EIGEN token airdrop in May, which concluded the initial airdrop season and contributed to the total distribution of 113 million EIGEN tokens, which accounts for 6.7% of the supply allocated for airdrop events.
The tokens will be temporarily sealed until the conclusion of the third quarter of 2024 after they have been claimed. Nevertheless, the EigenLayer web portal allows users to engage in staking and delegation activities with EigenDA operators.
EigenLayer, which was introduced on the Ethereum mainnet in April 2024, has already collected deposits exceeding $12 billion. The platform facilitates the development of new projects that utilize a more comprehensive security network, thereby eliminating the necessity for distinct security solutions.
