Therefore, it has initiated a series of public proceedings, the first of which will begin on May 12, 2023. After carefully examining more than 200 interventions, the CRTC has announced its initial two decisions.
Streaming platforms operating in Canada with an annual revenue of $10 million must now register their operations. This registration must be completed by November 28, 2023. In addition, the procedure is simple, requiring only a few mouse clicks.

The CRTC facilitates Canadians’ access to international streaming content. On Wednesday, certain streaming services must disclose information regarding their content library and user demographics. In addition, the CRTC is investigating requirements for Canadian and Indigenous content across traditional and online broadcasting platforms. Beginning on November 20, 2023, a three-week public procedure will commence. The CRTC intends to interact with 129 intervenors representing various interests during this time frame.
