Shrapnel, an upcoming web3 shooting game, will soon be accessible on the Epic Games Store as an early access title.
Shrapnel, a blockchain video game akin to Call of Duty, will go on early access from February 8 through February 10, from 1 pm to 9 pm PT. The first build of the game, called Shrapnel Training Exercises One (STX1), will let users experience a character at their maximum degree of advancement.
Gamers can test out three distinct types of guns, a grenade, and an exclusive “Sigma ability.”
Early access is available to those who purchase an “Extraction Pack” access key, which costs $19.99 for the basic pack and $49.99 and $99.99 for the premium packs, which include skins, consumable packs, and more in-game stuff.
Players can compete for a $100,000 prize pool in the first-ever Shrapnel test, sponsored by RNGFoundation, during the early access period. The player with the highest ranking can win $10,000, while the runners-up will receive $5,000 and $2,500, respectively.
Shrapnel, a free-to-play game created exclusively on the Avalanche blockchain by Neon Machine, is scheduled for release in 2025. It was announced in October 2023 that Neon Machine had raised $20 million in Series A funding to continue developing their blockchain-integrated shooting video game, with Polychain Capital serving as the lead investor.
Griffin Gaming Partners, Franklin Templeton, IOSG Ventures, Tess Ventures, and Brevan Howard Digital are among the other investors.
