Kevin O’Leary Once A Critic
Once a critic, Kevin O’Leary, a Shark Tank investor, has revealed that his crypto holdings have increased dramatically in recent months. According to a Reddit Talk Session, cryptocurrency accounts for approximately 10% of an investor’s portfolio.
He did not list all of the coins he owns, but he did mention Bitcoin, USD Coin, a stablecoin in the top ten, and Ethereum.
Bitcoin and Ethereum are the two most valuable cryptocurrencies in terms of market capitalization, and they mainly control the industry. O’Leary stated that he holds a large amount of Ethereum but is keeping an eye on its competitors.
He explained;
Some people think the game is over and Ethereum is it, but I don’t agree. There are many other alternatives, whether it be Solana or anything else,
As a result, the shark intends to diversify its portfolio and lower its risk. Because of its smart contract features, Ethereum has been widely recognized as the blockchain to build on. With the debut of Cardano, Binance Smart Chain, and Solana in the last couple of years, the project has faced stiff competition. Despite some setbacks, Ethereum remains the dominant force, with the launch of Ethereum 2.0 expected to keep it there.
O’Leary also discussed his growing interest in cryptocurrency. According to him,
I am going to put an allocation into the software of crypto because I believe it will change and be disruptive to a lot of different markets all around the world.
He also revealed how he selects the coins in which he invests, stating, “Can I pick the best teams?” instead of using charts and following influencers. Who are the most talented programmers? What is the best way for me to invest in them? What exactly is that ledger? Should I also have a piece of that?”
Other Investor In Shark Tank Show
On the TV show Shark Tank, Kevin O’Leary isn’t the only investor who is interested in cryptocurrency. Mark Cuban, the owner of the Dallas Mavericks, is a huge proponent of cryptocurrencies and the technology that underpins them. He’s particularly interested in Dogecoin (DOGE), a cryptocurrency that his sports team accepts as payment for tickets and merchandise.
Cuban, like O’Leary, is known for interacting with others and keeping an open mind about what other blockchains are up to and whether or not he should invest in them.
