By the fall of 2024, Sam Altman OpenAI will introduce ChatGPT for Plus users, which will be voice-enabled and include real-time conversation and safety enhancements.
OpenAI has announced a substantial update to ChatGPT under CEO Sam Altman’s leadership. This update introduces a new voice-enabled ChatGPT exclusively available to ChatGPT Plus subscribers. This new feature enhances user engagement by enabling more engaging and conversational exchanges.
Sam Altman OpenAI project has disclosed Major update
OpenAI has initiated the progressive rollout of its new voice chatbot, which is based on the GPT-4o model, to a restricted number of users of the ChatGPT Plus service. This novel mode facilitates real-time communication with emotional intelligence by integrating voice, text, and vision. By the autumn of 2024, all ChatGPT Plus users will have access to the feature.
The voice feature was initially unavailable for use due to safety concerns. The product was originally scheduled for May but was postponed to improve the model’s safety measures, enabling it to identify and reject objectionable content. OpenAI has also enhanced its capacity to respond to many users in real-time.

Sam Altman OpenAI conducted experiments with over 100 external red-teamers from 29 countries who spoke 45 languages to prevent safety and ethical issues. These evaluators evaluated the model’s ability to manage many inputs without compromising the user’s safety. In addition, OpenAI has implemented the following measures: the model has been trained to utilize four pre-defined voices developed by the company in collaboration with voice talent. This ensures that the model is incapable of producing any additional voices independently.
It is important to note that the ‘Sky’ voice, accused of imitating Scarlett Johansson, has been removed due to public and legal pressure. OpenAI’s Lindsay McCallum declared in an official statement that this new model will not replicate individuals or personalities and will prohibit the production of any voice not registered on the model.
Future Features and Improvements
The new voice mode substantially enhances the audio features previously accessible in ChatGPT. The previous solution consisted of three models: voice-to-text, text processing, and text-to-voice. This resulted in disjointed and unresponsive conversations. In contrast, the new GPT-4o has consolidated all these into a single model, resulting in more responsive and smoother conversations.
The model can also identify the emotional tone, which enhances the quality of conversations.
Sam Altman OpenAI has demonstrated that it intends to incorporate additional features, such as video and screen sharing, in the future, even though the current deployment is exclusively focused on voice. The workers employed the AI to address mathematical problems and coding inquiries through visual input during the May demonstration, indicating potential for future expansion.
SearchGPT& CoSAI
In addition to the most recent ChatGPT update, OpenAI is involved in various other AI advancements. The company has recently joined the Coalition for Secure AI (CoSAI), comprised of prominent technology companies, including Amazon, Microsoft, Nvidia, and Google.
CoSAI, established at the Aspen Security Forum, is dedicated to developing sound security principles and best practices for developing and applying AI to mitigate the primary risks associated with AI.
Additionally, Sam Altman OpenAI has recently introduced SearchGPT, an AI search engine that provides rapid and concise responses with the source. At present, SearchGPT is being evaluated with a restricted number of users and publishers to generate a substantial change in how individuals interact with information online by providing pertinent and timely responses.
