Samsung Opens a New Virtual Store
Samsung, the giant of electronics, has opened a new temporary store in the virtual realm of Decentraland, marking the company’s second major foray into the metaverse and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in less than a week (MANA).
The company stated in an official article that the news was made at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Nevada and that the store would be known as Samsung 837X.
It’s “a groundbreaking metaverse experience derived from the business’s main New York City site,” according to the corporation.
The Decentraland store is named after Samsung’s flagship brick-and-mortar store in New York, which is located at 837 Washington Street in Manhattan.
The Virtual Store will be Available in Decentraland for a Limited Time
The virtual store will only be available in Decentraland for a limited time, but the company hopes to tie it in with events at its physical flagship location.
“Mysterious quests” that would “lead to special NFTs” were teased.
A “live mixed reality dance party” would take place in both the actual and virtual worlds, according to the announcement.
Visitors will be able to “attend” the party, which will be headlined by DJ Gamma Vibes, at the 837X’s Customization Stage.
The latter will play at the New York 837 shop, with the Decentraland space hosting a simultaneous performance.
The Company is Eager to Attract Dencentraland Players’ Attention
A crypto twist came in the form of the company announcing that it would run a Sustainability Forest in the virtual arena in collaboration with Veritree, a Cardano (ADA)-the powered temperature management platform that wants to grow 2.2 million trees by the end of the first quarter of 2022.
Visitors can also visit the virtual store’s Connectivity Theater to learn about the newest Samsung CES news.
The company is eager to attract Dencentraland players’ attention by providing them with the opportunity to win 837X NFT badges by touring the facility.
“All badge holders will be entered into a raffle to win one of three limited-supply wearable collections for their Decentraland avatar[s] from epic to mythic levels,” the company noted.
Earlier this week, Samsung unveiled an NFT trading platform for use with its newest televisions.
