Scott Free Productions, a film and television production business co-founded by filmmaker Ridley Scott, whose 2000 film Gladiator won the Academy Award for Best Picture, has joined the effort to develop a film on the Ethereum (ETH) blockchain’s birth and rise.
Shyam Madiraju will write and direct the film, which is based on Camila Russo’s book The Infinite Machine.

According to the publisher’s description, Russo’s book “begins with Vitalik Buterin, a phenomenally bright nineteen-year-old autodidact who spotted the promise of blockchain when the technology was in its earliest stages.”
āIt then explores the brilliant innovation and reckless greed the platformāan infinitely adaptable foundation for experimentation and new applicationsāhas unleashed and the consequences that resulted as the frenzy surrounding it grew.ā
The team driving the creative effort will benefit from Scott Free Productions‘ experience bringing a number of blockbusters to the big screen by bringing them on board. House of Gucci, starring Adam Driver, Lady Gaga, and Al Pacino, is one of the most recent films in which the film production company has been involved.
Scott Free Productions, for example, is now co-producing Napoleon, which will be directed by Ridley Scott and starring Joaquin Phoenix.
