The Filecoin Foundation and SingularityNET, an artificial intelligence platform developer, have announced a collaborative partnership to integrate decentralized AI and DePIN.

The partnership aims to preserve decentralization, AI ethics, and data provenance while integrating the AI and decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) industries.
The partnership will also establish an AI ethics working group to ensure that AI development and deployment adhere to ethical practices, as stated in an official press release with Cointelegraph.
Ben Goertzel, the founder and CEO of SingularityNET and a co-founder of the Artificial Superintelligence Alliance, disclosed the following in a written Q&A with Cointelegraph:
“AI ethics has many aspects, including minimizing unhealthy biases in AI models, directing use of AI toward beneficial applications, minimizing odds of adverse outcomes from breakthroughs to superintelligence and others.”
Partnership Objectives
The collaboration has a variety of objectives that span varying timelines, some of which are short-term, such as SingularityNET’s utilization of Filecoin’s Lighthouse SDK for metadata storage.
Integrating Filecoin’s technology base into SingularityNET is one of the key mid-term objectives, as it will enhance security and support the infrastructure of AI-generated data storage.
The partnership’s ultimate objective is implementing Filecoin to manage Knowledge Graphs, a critical component of SingularityNET’s Knowledge Layer initiative.
Goertzel affirmed that the Filecoin token and the Artificial Superintelligence Alliance (ASI) token would be utilized in the partnership. When asked whether Filecoin would become a member of the ASI, he responded:
“In the world of crypto, anything is possible, but there is no specific announcement we want to make in that regard right now.”
DePIN Advancements
Ultimately, the Filecoin network is a DePIN project specifically designed for cloud storage and supported by the Filecoin Foundation in governance, funding, and growth.
SingularityNET will integrate AI services into Filecoin’s decentralized storage system and vice versa to establish interoperable and synergistic ecosystems for both companies.
The partnership endeavors to demonstrate the real-world applications and potential industry implications of DePINs to enhance their benefits further.
The ASI token merger includes SingularityNET, Fetch.ai, and Ocean Protocol. Goertzel stated in an interview with Cointelegraph that superhuman superintelligence is “just a few years” away despite the merger’s delay.
Goertzel clarified in the interview that the ultimate goal was to establish superintelligence “on a decentralized infrastructure.”
SingularityNET has recently partnered with the Filecoin Foundation to further its collaborative objectives following its merger with two other AI development companies.
