Coinbase App is Broken for User Experience – CEO
Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, has revealed how “broken” the Coinbase app is for user experience, and he has said the next two weeks will see rapid updates of the app.

Armstrong wrote on X (Twitter) on August 13 that several pain points have manifested during “Onchain Summer” — a multi-week festival of product launches, brand activations, and non-fungible token reveals on Base from August 9 to August 31.
One thing #OnchainSummer is exposing is just how broken our UX is in the main Coinbase app for NFTs, Dapps, and L2s today. Sorry to say, but true.

If we face truth, we can get motivated to improve it. These need to be first class experiences, and #OnchainSummer is a great impetus…
Armstrong stated that the event revealed the flaws in the Coinbase app's user experience for non-fungible tokens, decentralized applications, and layer 2s.
The CEO urged users of X to respond to the thread with feedback to prioritize the essential questions, adding that there will be rapid updates on the most significant pain points over the next two weeks.
At the time of publication, the most popular response was a request from Friendtech developer Racer for a credit card on-ramp to Coinbase that did not require users to create a distinct account.
Armstrong then requested a fix for an ongoing bug that caused issues when connecting Coinbase's mobile wallet to Google Chrome, noting that the defect was more persistent than anticipated.
UX has been a persistent issue for the crypto industry. In an interview with Cointelegraph, an anonymous Web3 UI/UX designer named 0xDesigner attributed a significant portion of the problem to the owner-centric and irreversible nature of blockchain-based applications.

Despite the often-complicated nature of blockchain technology, XGo content manager Kirthana Devaser believes that a continued emphasis on sleek UI and rendering blockchain “invisible” in everyday user interactions will drive the next wave of mass adoption.
