Ethereum (ETH) gets an Ethiopian Logo on Twitter
Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey isn't trolling Ethereum by making its logo the Ethiopian flag, this might be in a bid to support the Ethiopian athletes.
Crypto When the hashtag #eth began to automatically display the Ethiopian flag as the Ethereum ‘logo,' Twitter erupted in laughter.
Given Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey's fondness for Bitcoin and the fact that Bitcoin has its own Twitter emblem, many speculated that he was implicitly mocking Ethereum (ETH).
After all, he's a fervent Bitcoin (BTC) maximalist who has frequently asserted that Bitcoin would become the internet's native currency and has refused to contemplate buying ETH and other altcoins.
The founder of Twitter and Square certainly saw the funny side of things, tweeting “#eth,” which got the attention of the official Olympic account, which said it was “wonderful to see Jack and the crypto community supporting the #ETH athletes!”

The Ethiopian flag, in fact, has nothing to do with Ethereum. Flags have been attached to hashtags of countries competing in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics by the social media platform.
The advertising is part of the platform's ‘hashflags' campaign, which it also ran during the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
It's worth noting that earlier this year, the Twitter CEO used the Ethiopian flag to promote Bitcoin after retweeting lobbying attempts by a group of Ethiopian-based entrepreneurs known as “Project Mano,” who were encouraging their government to explore mining and hoarding BTC.

This week, Dorsey shared the stage with Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Ark Invest CEO Cathie Wood at “The Word,” a virtual Bitcoin event. During the occasion, Dorsey expressed his desire for Bitcoin to “create or assist in the creation of world peace.”
“We have all these monopolies out of balance, and the individual has no power, and the amount of cost and distraction that comes from our monetary system today is real, and it diverts attention away from the major problems,” he said, emphasizing Bitcoin's ability to address financial inequity.
