by compressing the protocol down to its most lightweight and efficient form feasible while maintaining its security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the changes, Optimism's proprietary compiler was decommissioned, along with more than &#8220;25,000 lines&#8221; of other code, in order to achieve their minimalist ideology of minimalism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is claimed that \u201cbuilding an EVM-compliant rollup poses an even greater challenge: supporting the entire <a href=\"https:\/\/coinscreed.com\/staging\/ethereum-backs-spruces-vision-for-a-decentralized-identity-verification.html\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"9873\">Ethereum <\/a>stack within the new science,\u201d according to the blog post. &#8220;It is expensive to re-implement security-critical EVM features, and every additional line of code increases the risk of introducing vulnerabilities.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to achieving complete EVM equivalency with the Geth <a href=\"https:\/\/coinscreed.com\/staging\/sen-warren-talks-about-high-gas-fees-on-the-ethereum-network.html\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"9919\">Ethereum <\/a>client, the team claims to have achieved compatibility with alternative node implementations like as OpenEthereum and Erigon with &#8220;under 1,000 lines of code.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, optimism stated that no modifications have been made to the company's current security model as a result of the recent release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The progress of optimism is being driven by capital migration away from the Ethereum mainnet and onto EVM compliant chains and layer-two scaling solutions in an attempt to offset the high fees associated with transactions processed on Ethereum's base layer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The competitor rollup network Arbitrum presently has the largest Ethereum bridge by total value locked (TVL), according to Dune Analytics, despite the fact that it only began three weeks ago.
