Furthermore, two weeks ago, $2 billion in Bitcoin was transferred for an infinitesimal cost of $0.78 between unknown wallets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DeversiFi stated that they have begun investigative procedures to determine the most likely cause of the problem, while also stating that \u201cno customer funds on DeversiFi are at risk, and this is an internal issue for DeversiFi to resolve,\u201d as well as that \u201cno customer funds on DeversiFi are at risk, and this is an <a href=\"https:\/\/coinscreed.com\/staging\/morgan-stanley-increases-its-crypto-exposure-through-grayscales-bitcoin-trust.html\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"11130\">internal issue for DeversiFi<\/a> to resolve.\u201d &#8220;\u201cOperations will not be harmed.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn transactions such as these, the costs are shouldered through third-party integrations with Bitfinex,\u201d Bitfinex responded on Twitter &#8220;implying that the fee will not be borne directly by the exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"515\" height=\"465\" src=\"https:\/\/coinscreed.com\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/image-275.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11139\" srcset=\"https:\/\/coinscreed.com\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/image-275.png 515w, https:\/\/coinscreed.com\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/image-275-300x271.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 515px) 100vw, 515px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In June 2020, three small to medium transactions registered seismic charges, with one 0.55 ETH transfer costing $2.6 million in fees, comparable to the Bitfinex instance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI'm anticipating EIP-1559 to dramatically minimize the rate of things like this happening by decreasing the need for users to try to set fees manually,\u201d<a href=\"https:\/\/coinscreed.com\/staging\/ethereum-co-founder-vitalik-buterin-blasts-elon-musks-plans-to-10x-dogecoin.html\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"3747\"> Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin<\/a> said at the time, agreeing with the human-error story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, once the last of the three transactions was confirmed as a &#8220;malicious attack&#8221; when the wallet owner contacted the mining pool that facilitated the transaction, experts in the area spread speculations of extortion, fraudulent activities, and even money laundering.
