Mirror, a decentralized blogging system based on Ethereum \r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/clipPath>\r\n <\/defs><\/svg><\/span><\/a>that was first introduced in December of last year, has now opened its doors to all creators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to this announcement, creators could only acquire access to Mirror by gaining a sufficient number of votes in the weekly WRITE Race, which took place on Wednesday afternoon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Existing Mirror users would have two hours to vote on candidates using the protocol's WRITE token<\/a>, thereby turning it into a popularity contest of sorts for those who participated. The top ten finishers in the voting would each receive one WRITE token, which they could use to purchase a Mirror-hosted.xyz blog once the contest ended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even though Mirror looks and feels quite similar to the famous blogging site Medium, it distinguishes itself by providing an extensive set of crypto-native features and capabilities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because it's a decentralized protocol, it allows users to log in and “sign” messages using their Ethereum wallets<\/a>. It also makes use of the blockchain-based storage technology <\/a>Arweave to “permanently” back up content and increase its resistance to censorship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mirror has been adding numerous crypto-centric economic components to enable users to monetize their accounts over the course of several months, allowing them to sell NFT <\/a>items, host auctions, and even run crowdfunding campaigns. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mirror helped the writer Emily Segal raise money for her next work, which was published in April of this year. A crowdfunding <\/a>campaign on Mirror, run by the authors of a planned documentary film on Ethereum, collected $1.9 million worth of ETH in July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To distribute community updates, blockchain<\/a>-based companies are increasingly turning to Mirror, which is a crypto-native solution. Among those who use Mirror are DAOs, or decentralized autonomous organizations, which have become increasingly popular in recent years. Mirror is a decentralized mechanism to openly exchange long-form material in DAO <\/a>communities, which are primarily based on Discord servers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since the release of today's version, the WRITE Race is no longer required when publishing via Mirror. But Mirror intends to reward users who have already gone through the procedure and are now a part of the platform with exclusive offers and promotions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Membership obtained through the $WRITE Race is evolving to symbolize decision-making authority as well as a stake in the future of the Mirror <\/a>protocol and the Decentralized <\/a>Autonomous Organization, according to the project's documentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
