According\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/clipPath>\r\n <\/defs><\/svg><\/span><\/a> to the company, its online store now accepts nine cryptocurrencies for payment, allowing users to pay for groceries, hygiene products, and household items with crypto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The announcement lists Bitcoin, Ether (ETH<\/a>), Bitcoin Cash (BCH<\/use><\/svg><\/span><\/a>), EOS<\/use><\/svg><\/span><\/a>, Dai (DAI), XRP<\/use><\/svg><\/span><\/a>, Stellar (XLM<\/use><\/svg><\/span><\/a>), and USD Coin as supported cryptocurrencies (USDC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Konzum implemented PayCek, a system that allows merchants to accept cryptocurrency payments, in partnership with local crypto payment processor Electrocoin. Given the extreme volatility of crypto prices, the PayCek method assures buyers a set exchange rate at the start of the transaction, allowing for smooth execution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, the company only accepts bitcoin online but hopes to broaden the payment option soon. The company employs around 10,000 people in Croatia and has 700 outlets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Konzum board member Uro Kalini, crypto payments demonstrate the company's dedication to global retail trends and developments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs the largest retail chain in Croatia, we are happy to be leaders in another area that is fast rising and defining the future,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
