In addition, Modi's government intends to impose a minimum capital requirement for cryptocurrency investments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">India's stance on Cryptocurrency<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>India is taking a strong position against cryptocurrency, citing a growth in fraud, <a href=\"https:\/\/coinscreed.com\/staging\/binance-tightens-its-money-laundering-checks.html\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"8410\">money laundering,<\/a> and terrorist financing in the sector in recent years as justification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, competition from privately-owned or privately-issued cryptocurrencies might theoretically jeopardize the Reserve Bank of India's efforts to develop a digital rupee.
