Elon Musk opposes the metaverse and Web3 ecosystems<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Elon Musk<\/a>, the world's richest man and CEO of Tesla, an electric car maker, has recently expressed his opposition to the current metaverse and Web3 ecosystems campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Musk stated in a recent\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/clipPath>\r\n <\/defs><\/svg><\/span><\/a> interview with Babylon Bee that Web3 and metaverse trends are getting increasingly popular, but he does not believe in them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know if I necessarily buy into this metaverse stuff, although people talk to me a lot about it\u2026 I\u2019m currently unable to see a compelling metaverse situation or Web 3 sounds like more marketing than reality. I don\u2019t get it, and maybe I will, but I don\u2019t get it yet.\u201d \u2013 He said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The CEO of Tesla and SpaceX stated that he finds it impossible to see a future in which people must leave the physical world to live in a virtual one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I don't see somebody strapping a frickin' screen to their face all day and refusing to take it off.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In comparison to the concept of the metaverse, he brought out the irony of the guidance he got as a child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s weird that when I grew up I was like don\u2019t sit close to TV it\u2019s gonna ruin your eyesight. Now you\u2019ve got TV literally in front of your face. I\u2019m like what? Is that good for you?\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Neuralink is superior to Metaverse<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Musk stated that his neurotechnology business, Neuralink, will provide a better ecosystem for individuals to fully engage in virtual reality, despite his lack of enthusiasm for the metaverse and Web3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Neuralink's primary goal is to develop brain implants that can be implanted in humans to restore and augment a variety of physical abilities through the use of computers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn the long term, a sophisticated Neuralink could put you fully into virtual reality. I think we\u2019re far from disappearing into the metaverse, this sounds just kind of buzzwordy.\u201d \u2013 Musk said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Another “centralized” entity is Web3<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

His comments come just one day after Twitter's former CEO, Jack Dorsey<\/use><\/svg><\/span><\/a>, claimed that venture capitalists and their limited partners will have an impact on Web3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He described the technology as a “centralized entity with a distinct label.” Elon Musk<\/use><\/svg><\/span><\/a> joked, “Has anyone seen Web3?” in response to the post, which prompted a big controversy. I can't seem to locate it.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
