On the Android and iOS platforms, China has launched a digital wallet prototype for its digital yuan (e-CNY)\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/clipPath>\r\n <\/defs><\/svg><\/span><\/a>. The latest development comes as the world waits for the country's native CBDC to be officially launched. After starting work on its sovereign digital currency in 2014, China was one of the first countries to do so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a tweet from BlockBeats, a local digital media company, the trial version is accessible for anyone to download and use to learn how it works. According to the local report:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Will the e-CNY be launched in 2022?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A screenshot of the claimed e-CNY wallet, which was designated for internal usage by banks, was posted online earlier in 2021. The wallet's current layout appears to be very different from the previous disclosure. The construction was finished by the end of 2019, however, the Beijing government has yet to declare a formal debut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The digital yuan <\/a>has been deployed in a variety of businesses and platforms throughout the last two years of mass trials. Several million e-CNY have been airdropped by state provinces for consumers to test and use totally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

China's e-CNY could be launched in 2022, and the government's trial version of its digital wallet is one sign that the government may decide for a public rollout.
