Twitter's NFT profile picture<\/a> feature on iOS devices might just not sit well as the entire crypto concept to some users. A popular Github contributor has built a browser plugin that autoblocks Twitter accounts using NFT profile pictures.<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

That was a speedy response. A github contributor \r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/clipPath>\r\n <\/defs><\/svg><\/span><\/a>named mcclure has written and released a browser plugin that automatically disables Twitter accounts using an NFT profile photo within 24 hours after the availability of the Twitter nonfungible token, or NFT, profile pictures for iOS update.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NFTBlocker is an application that prevents paid customers of the Twitter Blue for iOS service from using an NFT as their profile image.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the desktop, the extension works with Chrome and Firefox<\/a>, and while it's still a prototype, “future versions of this plugin will check your alerts and do the blocking automatically,” according to the developers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But why would someone create such a program? It's because NFTs are an “investment fraud,” according to mcclure's README.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They're not afraid to say what they're thinking:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn short, NFT users are just irritating to be around. People who bought NFTs have to keep hyping other people to buy NFTs<\/a> or the NFTs they bought will lose value. Twitter NFT cliques are rife with sockpuppet accounts, dogpiling and indifferentiable monkey clones. Blocking NFT users just makes Twitter nicer.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

To ban NFT profile photo users, the web creator suggests utilizing the app Better TweetDek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

mcclure, on the other hand, appears to be uninformed about the main motivation behind Twitter's decision to use NFTs. Mcclure states in the README section that Jack Dorsey “is involved in bitcoin<\/a> and will make money if Twitter makes NFTs more popular.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While Jack Dorsey has a sizable cryptocurrency portfolio, he has shown little interest in NFTs since stepping down as Twitter's CEO last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
