Monster Energy has four outstanding trademark applications\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/clipPath>\r\n <\/defs><\/svg><\/span><\/a> linked to nonfungible tokens (NFTs) and metaverse realms, according to recent filings with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initial trademark application covers downloadable virtual items such as beverages, food, supplements, sports, games, music, and fashion, among other things. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Such downloadable audiovisual elements will be “authenticated by NFTs,” according to the filing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Computer programs that facilitate blockchain data interactions are also incorporated in the application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second file includes NFT-authenticated retail store and online retail store services, as well as a “online marketplace for virtual goods buyers and sellers.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The third filing, meanwhile, is about entertainment services tied to virtual clothes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, the fourth filing comprises of delivering an online platform that uses blockchain technology to ease the transmission of digital assets among users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to data published<\/use><\/svg><\/span><\/a> by the USPTO, processing first-time trademark applications might take up to 7.4 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, there looks to be a boom in companies with intellectual property applications entering the NFT and metaverse domains. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The New York Stock Exchange filed a trademark application for trading NFTs earlier this month. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

McDonald's filed trademarks for “McMetaverse” establishments, which incorporates its popular McCafe brand, around the same time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meta (previously Facebook) applied to register Bitcoin (BTC) and cryptocurrency service trademarks in Brazil last month. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
