The Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine who had earlier announced a crypto airdrop <\/a>has cancelled the initiative, in it's stead, the Minister announced launch of NFTs to support the Ukrainian Armed Forces.<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Ukraine's Vice Prime Minister\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/clipPath>\r\n <\/defs><\/svg><\/span><\/a>, Mykhailo Fedorov, has declared that the country's crypto airdrop has been canceled. The airdrop was scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Kyiv time today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fedorov wrote, “After thorough assessment, we have decided to cancel airdrop.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After careful consideration we decided to cancel airdrop. Every day there are more and more people willing to help Ukraine to fight back the agression. Instead, we will announce NFTs to support Ukrainian Armed Forces soon. Instead, he stated that Ukraine will have NFTs<\/a> to assist the country's military forces. Ukraine is not plan to release any fungible tokens, according to the tweet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ukraine's cryptocurrency donations surge<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This is the latest in a long line of cryptocurrency-related fundraising<\/a> initiatives on behalf of the Ukrainian government in the aftermath of Russia's invasion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ukrainian government's official Twitter account had previously been disseminating information on the country's bitcoin donations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Official updates have been relocated from the Ukrainian government's Twitter account to that of Vice Prime Minister Fedorov since yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ukraine has been receiving crypto donations in the form of Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other cryptocurrencies<\/a> over the last week. The government originally said it was “now collecting cryptocurrency donations” on February 26, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to blockchain records, the government has received over $10 million in Bitcoin and $16 million in Ethereum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
