To commemorate International Women's Day, the Sandbox (SAND) metaverse and World of Women NFTs community<\/a> have launched WoW Foundation and additional educational initiatives to help drive female education and mentorship in web3.<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

The Sandbox has given the foundation a $25 million grant to help fund its operations over the next five years. The WoW foundation's objective is to increase female representation in the NFT and metaverse\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/clipPath>\r\n <\/defs><\/svg><\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a group of “diverse and powerful individuals,” “World of Women, which sells women on the Ethereum blockchain, told Cointelegraph that their goal is to lower the barrier to entry for women in Web3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Our mission is to highlight and lift up as many female and underserved creators as possible, making the metaverse not just a landscape designed by men but rather one enriched with as much diversity of thought as possible.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

“Our objective is to spotlight and elevate as many female and underrepresented artists as possible, ensuring that the metaverse isn't merely a landscape constructed by men, but one enriched with as much diversity of thought as possible.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Uplifting the ecosystem by supporting artists and sponsoring projects; educating newcomers; increasing attention for women-centric concerns; and giving back to charities are the four key pillars of this purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It also wants to help creators' Web3 adventures <\/a>through The Sandbox's grant, from mentoring and supporting their first mint to their first sale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

World of Women and The Sandbox plan to collaborate on a series of interactive experiences in the metaverse through the WoW Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The WoW Museum on a 2×2 Sandbox LAND, the WoW University, which offers free online courses on how to get started with Web3, and The WoW Academy, which will act as a mentoring and funding incubator, are just a few of these projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Sandbox just purchased Aurora, the most expensive WoW NFT at the time of purchase, for 200 ETH and named her the new “goddess” of The Sandbox.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

World of Women co-founder and artist Yam Karkai announced that the metaverse will voxelize all 10,000 NFTs “so that our entire community can join us.” Within The Sandbox, these interoperable avatars will be available “Season 2 of Alpha<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, due to tech investor Guy Oseary, who just added World of Women to his NFT portfolio, WoW may be gearing up for film, TV, and music opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similar to the Bored Ape Yacht Club<\/a> model, WoW NFT holders have total ownership and intellectual property rights over their assets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In terms of trading volume on OpenSea, both The Sandbox and World of Women are present in the top 20 collections of all time.
