Ledger<\/a> has announced the launch of a limited edition hardware wallet, the Ledger Nano S Plus. The collection features only 10,000 units which will be available for pre-order at a price of $79.<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Ledger also announced global cooperation with the Ethereum-based Proof of Attendance Protocol\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/clipPath>\r\n <\/defs><\/svg><\/span><\/a>, or POAP, in addition to the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

POAPs are also known as digital memories of nonfungible tokens, or NFTs because they provide proof of involvement and attendance for other users on important occasions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The need of creating NFTs soulbound to enable evidence of achievement was noted by Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin<\/a> in January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Securing and protecting your digital memories, like as the POAP you may collect with your Ledger Nano S Plus, is essential for anyone developing a lifelong collection,” stated Lucas Verra, CEO of POAP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A special engraving will be included in the Genesis Edition of the Ledger Nano S Plus. A card redeemable for a Genesis POAP NFT will be included with each shipment, allowing users to carry proof of this exclusive hardware wallet<\/a> in their digital wallets as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

POAP will also be producing limited-edition NFTs for future Ledger events. Ledger's chief experience officer, Ian Rogers, had the following to say about the development:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This partnership with POAP and launch of the Ledger Nano S Plus Genesis Edition at an affordable price marks the acknowledgment that digital assets will only increase as a tool for life experiences, and we want to bring millions more into Web3 securely; as it happens.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The Ledger Nano S Plus is the company's first hardware wallet after the launch of the Ledger Nano X in 2019. According to the company, approximately 4.5 million Ledger Nano hardware wallets have been sold, with Ledger devices protecting nearly 20% of the world's digital assets.<\/a> The Nano S Plus accepts a wide range of digital assets, including over 5,500 coins and tokens as well as NFTs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
