Twitter has \u2018canceled' Bitcoin influencer Alex Gladstein<\/a> due to his stance on targeted sanctions against Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gladstein had previously stated that he favors \u201cconfiscation of any properly targeted asset\u201d. He did state that he opposed \u201cbroad nationality-based sanctions,\u201d calling them \u201cimmoral.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The crypto community reacted angrily to the influencer's response<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notably, the influencer's first response was a retweeted post on Polina Kovaleva. The thread\u2019s author claimed that Kovaleva is the stepdaughter of Russia\u2019s Foreign Affairs Minister Sergei Lavrov \u2014 a Putin ally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kovaleva, who had a \u201cglamorous British life,\u201d was recently sanctioned. To Gladstein, punishing Kovaleva is justified since he \u201c100%\u201d supports the policy articulated by the original Kovaleva thread creator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among numerous replies, Tone Vays, a fan, lost respect for Gladstein for his \u201chorrible take.\u201d Their remark \u201cgoes against everything Bitcoin stands for,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Gladstein, \u201cI embrace Bitcoin because it prevents widespread asset confiscation.\u201d \u201cBut even under the Bitcoin Standard, war crimes are punishable,\u201d the influencer added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Twitter user TheGuySwann defended<\/use><\/svg><\/span><\/a> Gladstein, praising his contributions to the Bitcoin movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
