appears to be a story on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) website, but closer inspection reveals that the website is merely a funnel for users to be directed to the <a href=\"https:\/\/coinscreed.com\/staging\/this-soccer-manager-seeks-help-after-his-name-was-used-by-crypto-scammers.html\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"16704\">scammer's<\/a> website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cCommonwealth Bank has become aware of a fake news article circulating on social media, including Facebook, alleging the bank partnered with a cryptocurrency trading platform to encourage people to invest in crypto assets. &#8220;This is totally false and untrue,\u201d&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.commbank.com.au\/articles\/newsroom\/2022\/04\/cryptocurrency-scam-warning.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reads<span class=\"wpil-link-icon\" title=\"Link goes to external site.\" style=\"margin: 0 0 0 5px;\"><svg width=\"24\" height=\"24\" style=\"height:16px; width:16px; fill:#000000; stroke:#000000; display:inline-block;\" viewBox=\"0 0 24 24\" version=\"1.1\" xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\" xmlns:svg=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\"><use href=\"#wpil-svg-outbound-7-icon-path\"><\/use><\/svg><\/span><\/a> on links to the article because they risk losing their funds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2021, the Commonwealth Bank of Australia made <a href=\"https:\/\/beincrypto.com\/commonwealth-bank-becomes-first-in-australia-to-offer-crypto-services\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">history<span class=\"wpil-link-icon\" title=\"Link goes to external site.\" style=\"margin: 0 0 0 5px;\"><svg width=\"24\" height=\"24\" style=\"height:16px; the bank's CEO, Matt Comyn, said at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) filed a lawsuit against Meta last month, alleging that it &#8220;aided and abetted or was knowingly involved in false or misleading conduct and representations by the advertisers.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the Commission, Facebook failed to address scam ads that were displayed on the platform.
