Following a stake by 398k unique validators, the total Staked ETH 2.0 has risen by more than $12.764 million. With ETH 2.0 rumored to take place between August and October 2022, 10.73 percent of Ethereum's circulating supply has already been staked. In November 2020, ETH 2.0 staking was born.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In what is known as “The Merge,” Ethereum's proof of work system would be replaced by the proof of stake system in the latest ETH 2.0. While miners are involved in the PoW validation process, stakers in PoS use nodes to validate transactions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Merge<\/a> had already passed key testnets and a major shadow fork as of April, and the switch is expected to take place in August unless otherwise stated by ETH core developer Preston Van Loon and co-founder Vitalik Buterin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eth2, is a network upgrade on Ethereum, the world second-largestst blockchain, which is currently at Eth1. It is known as the consensus layer. It is divided into three phases: the Beacon Chain, the Merge Chain, and the Shard Chain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ethereum Price Increases By 7%<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In light of Ethereum's planned transition to Eth 2.0, Sigma Prime, a blockchain firm that manages the ETH 2.0 consensus client, Lighthouse, announced the release of v2.3.0 on GitHub on May 30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The transitioning process created some uncertainty, resulting in an ETH<\/a> value of $1750 on May 25, a 10% drop in the price of ETH. However, a slight recovery in the cryptocurrency market resulted in a price increase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the price of ETH rose to a high of $1909, a 7 percent pump was recorded. Another rally is expected as the upgrade is expected to correct block reorganization on the Beacon Chain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The release of v2.3.0 is expected to address critical bugs while also improving the Ethereum mainnet and the already existing Beacon Chain.
