Kevin Collier described his interaction with the fictitious Snoop Dogg at the NFT event in Times Square in a tweet. Collier claimed that the individual who dressed as the well-known rapper was an imposter hired to “drum up hype” rather than Snoop Dogg himself. The event “feels like a metaphor,” Collier continued, alluding to the NFTs' copyright concerns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regiscake, a Twitter user, posted a picture of a fake Snoop Dogg wearing a VIP nametag that read, “Doop Snogg\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/clipPath>\r\n <\/defs><\/svg><\/span><\/a>“:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even though Doop Snogg was present to heighten the thrill of the occasion, not everyone was pleased. Synthpop, a Redditor, blasted the action, saying that NFTs use false art, fake hype, and phony Snoop. They wrote, “So far, everything is on-brand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bogus Snoop Dogg didn't win over Reddit <\/a>user az either. The Redditor expressed their displeasure by pointing out that NFTs, a technology developed to safeguard authenticity, are currently “being marketed with a phony version of a person.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Along with “industry VIPs” like Justin Beiber, Bruce Willis, and Ashton Kutcher, the venerable rapper was mentioned as a strategic investor in a funding round of the on- and off-ramp provider MoonPay in April. After that, MoonPay recently collaborated with Snoop Dogg's Death Row Records to introduce an NFT market:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
